Reef Express is a 57 foot LOA power catamaran designed for tours and snorkeling trips. The owner and builder runs a very successful charter business out of Key West, Florida. She is USCG certified for 49 passengers and exposed waters. The forward nets are a great place to ride or relax, similar to a sailing cat. The drop down forward boarding ladder, along with the rear boarding ladders, makes for a very versatile boat in terms of boarding from a beach or retrieving swimmers.
She is powered by a 200 HP Yanmar in each hull and light does around 26 knots, loaded with passengers around 24 knots. A sister ship, Flying Fish, was also built by the builder. Flying Fish had a more finished interior and now operates in the Bahamas.
This design will make a great family cruiser that will be economical to run.
